Greetings art peeps!

I must say, it’s been a busy week for shooting and editing. And a lot of activity in my studio. The most fun came last Tuesday when I had a chance to spend a few hours playing with Griffin and creating some new art. Lisa was very gracious to let us use her home for shooting. And after that, Lisa finally gave me a chance to shoot her again after many years. As I expected, she killed it. So, a long day, but over-the-top fun for sure. You’ll see some of those results in this and future issues.

I’m including a video snippet of a past shoot with Griffin, when we did one of my absolute favorite shoots. It was for an article she wrote for Playboy about patriotism and the symbol of our nation. She was inspired by many events, but when I mentioned that I had removed the flag from both of my homes, it prompted her to think about the topic.

When we did that shoot, and when you watch the video, it looks like that’s all we did with the flag. We actually did the first part, with her standing and posing, and then we went on to do some beauty shots with wardrobe and, of course, some killer nudes. As we were about to finish the shoot, I thought we should try some more with the flag, this time with her lying down. So, I set up the table with a blanket, and she got into position, and I draped the flag over her. Oh my, I knew I was going to love the resulting art. Both sets have become long-time favorites, especially the horizontal ones.

The goal was not just to have yet another cheese cake booty in a flag shot like one sees so often. There’s nothing wrong with those, of course. I just didn’t need to add to that look out there. Griffin did her part beautifully, bringing warmth and a look of love and respect to an otherwise cheeky genre.

For you photographers out there, or if you’ve ever wanted to do a photoshoot but you aren’t an active photographer, have gear, or the skills, I’ll have Elley Cat in the studio shooting with photographers one-on-one April 11th and 12th here in Chandler. Here is a link with details.

And as always, feel free to comment, ask questions, or even make suggestions. I’m at ai7r@mac.com
