Greetings,

Museletter 189! It makes me feel like I need a nap just thinking about that many consistent weeks of publishing this. It all started when we were staying at a little AirB&B in Huntington Beach, and I’d just come in from finally finding a place to park. I’d been thinking about something like the Museletter for a while, so I figured now was a good time. ‘Now’ is my favorite time to start new projects. I thought, so what day should I release the first one? It was a Wednesday. 189 Wednesdays later, here we are.

This week’s video is part 1 of an interview with Elley. Part 2 comes next week. Just some fun banter and some of you might get to know us a little better.

My move from 500px to Deviant Art has been much easier than expected. Although I opened my account on DA 12 years ago, pretty much when I started, I hadn’t done much on it. I’ve been posting some images every day for the last two weeks, and I’m up to 2k followers and over a million views per month. I had that many views on 500px with 25k followers. I am liking Deviant Art more, I think. Real artists and not just photography. Some fine art nudes go way over my red line, but I still respect them as art. It’s still not porn. Of course, some people regard what I do as porn, so it’s up to the viewer. And their personal opinion. And you all know what I think about opinions. (grin)

The magazine Model Society contacted me about publishing some of my work. I’ve always regarded them as very high-brow and ultra classy. Their art varies, staying with mostly fine art nudes, with a stress on the ‘fine’ part. I'll be very honored if they pick some of my art for publication. They have some of my training videos on their website, so we have a business relationship, but we’ve never discussed publishing my art.

Next week Colby is coming to Bonita along with a model named Ash, and we will create some art. I’ve shot with Ash once before, and she’s a beauty. Colby coming up is always welcome, although he and I are not beautiful, so there you go. I brought up a set of wings to use here, so that should be fun.

Today I looked around and noted all of the projects and toys and how little time I have to devote to any of it for long. Radios, X-Plane simulator, Eve Online space game, Oculus VR headset, the drone, electronic kits to build, and the standard chores a cabin the forest has.

Geek time. A couple of days ago, two storms developed directly over our heads here at Bonita. The first hung out for a while and dropped a half inch of rain and hail on us and some lightning. Then it was sunny for a short bit, and the next storm built, again, right over our heads. Same thing, another half in and rain and hail. This time we had a lightning bolt strike the ground about 150 feet from my tower. And it was down the hill a bit. Talk about nervous excitement on my part. I have been a bit paranoid about lightning strikes and my tower and antennas. Apparently I have a handle on how to be as safe as possible. I went out yesterday and did a video of my grounding system in detail. Check it out if you are a fellow geek or just curious.

Stay cool, happy, and healthy!

Dave
