Well, if it isn’t June already. Welcome to full-on summer and everything that comes with it. Mainly storms, forest fires, record-breaking heat, and maybe a vacation? Make the best of your summer because you only get so many. Enjoy them while you can. I plan on it.

No new shoots over the last week, but I had a little time to shoot with Kristy and Violet during the previous two days. I had a friend who is an excellent photographer come and visit for a couple of days. She wanted to learn some new techniques, and we brought in two models to play with lighting. I met her in Ireland when she and I arrived a few days early at the hotel. We hung out and checked out Dublin while we waited for the rest of the photographers from Texas and Florida to show up for the week of shooting. Fun trip. Since she’s just in San Diego, she came to visit.

This issue will be unique because I will dig WAY back in the archives and post some work I did over ten years ago. Many images will be very different from my current style, and some may expose the progress toward my style today. If I keep doing my art for the next ten years, I fully expect a noticeable difference between my current and future style, at least if I’m growing as a photographer/artist.

The next issue will mostly return to my regular edits of recent work. I’m still jumping back in the last five years of shoots and finding some wonderful new art.

We are in the valley this week for the training mentioned and haircuts. I may have previously mentioned that I use a special device to help me edit faster. It’s a set of buttons and a wheel that my left hand holds, so the zooming in and out, brush sizes, and the various macros happen because my left hand does the wheel and buttons without me even thinking about it now. Well, coming down, I messed up and didn’t bring that little device. Hell if I can edit now. I go to do just about anything, and my left hand reaches for that device automatically. Yep, I did two edits the old way and gave up. I have since picked up not only a new device, but one that is even more advanced. So, now to teach my left hand to work just a little differently. Unfortunately, my left hand is an old dog. New tricks are not easy.

Enough rambling for today. I hope you like the really old archival art. I don’t remember even shooting some of it. Not altogether surprised.

So, enjoy this issue. I love hearing from y’all about what you think. And thank you again for those who enjoy it enough to buy me an ice cream or hot cocoa.

Enjoy the beginning of summer. Stay cool and hydrated.
