Greetings!

It has been a very busy week here. Denis, a photographer friend from Canada, came and visited for the week. Plenty of sightseeing and photo shoots were planned and completed. Four full shoots in the studio with Violet, Ziva, Kristy, and Low Row. And mixed in were plenty of nice meals and even an overnight trip to Bonita. I even let him help me remove a tree up there. What is a vacation if you don’t go home with a bruise or two? And almost 2500 pictures in your camera. All models.

So, the last week was a lot of activity but not a lot of editing. I did get some shooting in with three of those ladies in the process so I have some new content to explore and make art with.

I visited some older shoots and found one of Griffin and one of Elley that seem very striking to me. As much as I love to bring out the curves and twists of the female body, the faces on these two came across beautifully. It is art and it is just how I feel and I am about as biased as their mothers would be. I have always loved great expressions and headshots. So I expect I’ll be looking for more expressive work in the future.

Life is back to some quiet time with radios, editing, and ice cream. Oh, and more 3D printing. Playing with toys every waking hour like any good retired person.

I expect to make a change in my shooting habits that I have done in the past but I never seem to stick to them. As most of you have noticed, I shoot artistic nudes pretty much all of the time. That’s what I love. I’ve had people come to me wanting some art, I assume because they like my style, and then tell me they only want to be in street clothes for the shoot. Okay. No. I am not about to edit a catalog shot. That’s what cell phones are for. And frankly, my style of editing doesn’t work well on clothing. Any material or props are there to enhance the mystery.

There are a handful of people who don’t do nudes, like Marcela and Sara, and a few others who bring just as much art to the table. What they bring is still wonderful and exciting. Implied or cosplay-style art is fun and artistically rewarding so I love shooting that also.
