Another week…

More about art!

I’ve noticed that I’m experiencing more moments of elevated joy in some of the art I’ve created lately. The love of art and the feelings it evokes change and grow. Some of those changes are guided by the mood we are in at the time we see the art.

I can confirm much of art is a reflection of the mood of the artist when it was created, so there is that. A room full of pendulums. Artists and viewers moving to their own life’s heartbeat to and fro. When an artist and viewer are on the same cycle, even if only for a moment, that art will resonate more strongly with the viewer.

When I’m working on a shoot, either at a location or in the studio, my mind and heart are in overdrive. There is constant communication between the model and me. It might be about the weather, their cat, or which heels to wear next. As that is going on, I’m considering what situations and lighting will bring out interesting art. Their personality, voice, and laughter provide me with some of the clues I use to portray them in the best way possible. Part of the art is exposing a bit of their soul in the art. Like a spice in a meal, the soul gives flavor and meaning to the resulting art.

Of course, some just come here to see boobs. Plain and simple. They never ask themselves why.

Art is what is keeping me grounded and content these days. I’m even trying to teach all of the content controlling algorithms that think they know me, that I’d rather see art than see the headlines. I’m focusing on the good in humanity, rather than the greed, deception, hate, and wars. I don’t have the time or energy for the hate and division. The decline in critical thinking and the movement to demonize intelligence is heartbreaking. It is a cycle, and I’ve lived, for the most part, on the upswing of humanity. It’s been a fun ride. I was hoping I wouldn’t see the swing in the other direction in my lifetime.

What surprises me is how few other people seem to see what is going on or worry that anything will change in their little life bubble. I sure hope they are right. Many of the events unfolding have a delayed but lasting impact on us all.

Until next week!!
