Greetings, fellow planet Earth dwellers,

Today’s collection of art is a mixture of new edits from past shoots and some favorites from the past of Elley and Marci. I can’t express how much fun it is to scroll through the thousands of images I’ve done since 2010 and find ones I had forgotten about that stopped me cold to enjoy looking at them again.

What a journey I’ve had so far. I’ve worked with so many wonderful people and made friends I couldn’t have imagined with any other endeavor. When I started with photography, about a year before I retired, I had no idea where it would lead me.

Last week, I was bemoaning the lack of shooting and creativity in my life. Ever since the pandemic, shoots have been in short supply. A lot of the models I used to work with have moved on to a more sane but arguably less artistic life. I stay in contact with many of them, and I always wish everyone well in their latest and future pursuits.

This week we are spending 7 days in Chandler. So, last week I reached out to many of the regular models I enjoy creating with to let them know I was going to be at the studio and invited them to come spend a few hours and create. Well now. One will be out of town, but the others are on my schedule! We came down mainly for a teeth cleaning and haircuts.

I guess I need to step up and ask more often. I’ve learned you can’t even get a ‘no’ if you don’t ask. I wish I’d known that when I was a young man. I would have dated a LOT more often.

So, between today and Sunday, I have SEVEN shoots lined up. I’ll have a ton of fresh material to edit from. Assuming this old body and mind can make it through all of that activity. I think I can, and it’ll be grand to get creative with friends again.

I think I’ve decided to change our usual summer schedule going forward. One week in Chandler at the beginning of each month and then the rest of the month up in the forest. And maybe the reverse during the winters. That should be just about right.
