Greetings!

Griffin and I had a wonderful shoot last week, and some of the results are in this issue. She really is a mix of every bunny I grew up enjoying in Playboy back in the day. She is such a sweet lady. We had fun shooting by the pool, and then a simple doorway gave us some amazing light.

A little side note. This marks the 6th anniversary of my first shoot with Griffin, and the 7th with Elley. I hope we have many more.

It is interesting to me, even after 16 years of shooting, that I will do a shoot at times, and when it’s over, I’m not sure if we captured anything worthwhile. I saw it all while I was doing the shoot. And I can look at the back of the camera and see how we did. But still, a little voice of doubt is making grunting sounds.

Then I get the shoot on the big editing screen, and it gets better, but sometimes I still wonder and worry. Then I edit a couple and boom, all is well. It reminds me that this happens often and always turns out well, usually way better than well. I think it’s a mental thing artists do to keep the pressure on. A little like fear, helping one be braver. My fear is to go into a shoot thinking we’ll nail it and then not. Being cocky would be very bad for a good creating environment. Hell, when I get cocky people point and laugh anyhow. Rightly so.

This old man gets confused as to what I’ve put in the Museletter before from the pile of new edits. Because I typically limit the number to 30. This week, I’m putting all 45 or so in the gallery and clearing out my pending folder. So, enjoy the additional 33% more art.

Yesterday we did our twice-yearly migration. We are officially up in the Tonto forest NE of Payson at six thousand feet. It is still pretty cool up here all day and cold at night. We might have come up a week too early. But it’s nice. The quiet is very pleasing. We see a vehicle pass on the dirt road every couple of hours. We just picked up some bird seed and a load of sugar to feed our winged friends. Here, that means 160 pounds of seed and 20 pounds of sugar. Until the ring neck pigeons show up. Then we hold the food back until the Hawks visit and the pigeons vanish mysteriously. That’s about all the drama we have up here.

Enjoy the beginning of summer. Stay cool and hydrated.
