This week in the life…

Greetings!!
So, it’s been yet another busy week. Several shoots and one at a large location where I could shoot a large flowing image. That image is in the gallery below. It is actually a combination of three different images put together into one. It is a good example of what I hope to do in Ireland in September, except with castles and windy cliffs and stuff. ;)
And then today I played with Jamie and we did some things that were really off the wall. The only edit before I put this week’s Museletter to bed is on the right. I call it “Light Stand”. I’m telling you, when I have a camera in my hand these ladies will do anything.
I also had the pleasure of working with Violet Pixie this week. We did some fun things but a couple of my favorite headshots ever came from the shoot. Of course you’ll see more of all of these shoots in the next Museletters.
On Friday Linda and I are picking up Elley Cat and heading to Huntington Beach for the weekend to so some training, a Fine Art Nude Lighting class, on Saturday and shooting on Sunday. She was booked up on Sunday by the locals so I’m shooting someone from there who is new to my lens. Both location in a nice home as well as on the beach. You can bet Linda, Elley, and I will hit the beach a couple times before we head home…with my camera of course.
And, this week I had my first disaster. I had made a backup to a new mirrored drive just like 3 others I’ve had running for years. Something happened to one of the disks and before it failed completely it took the mirrored one with it. Fortunately I only lost 4 shoots that I know of, and in all cases I had edited a bunch of images from each and those are saved in the cloud and a few other places. My shoot in Tempe at night with Elley was a loss with only two images saved. Soooo, tonight I’m making copies to a brand new RAID5 drive with 32 terabytes of drives, 24 tb usable. It’s fast and far safer. Whew!! Could have been much worse. First failure in 9 years, still not bad.
