Greetings,

Good day, and welcome to issue #200 of the Museletter. Over 900 people seem to enjoy getting it every week. I’ve enjoyed putting it together for almost 4 years now.

Last week I only had one short shoot with Elley. She came by for a new round of headshots, and we had time for a few minutes of artistic nudes. The two I edited are in this gallery along with the original images. It is interesting that the finished images are a far cry from the finished art. That is a bit of the fun factor of creating my art. The ‘Hmmm, what can I do with this one?’ question.

I had to take a bit of a break from editing new work because my eyes tend to get overworked and refuse to focus on a screen. It is my body telling me we are done looking at screens for a while. It is a nice break because I tend to get back into it with a fresh view of what art I can create.

I’m having fun posting to Deviant Art and building that following. I started that up in earnest when 500px just turned off my account one day. 25k+ followers and over 6k images were on there. That was a LOT of work. I’d had my DA account for over 10 years but didn’t really post. I think there were only a few hundred followers there when I started posting regularly. I’m a handful short of 5k followers after a few months of daily posting. There is a lot of excellent art there, but there is a lot of junk too. The new AI art where some kid in his mother’s basement just tells the computer hair and eye color and describes the pose and it makes him a dream girl image. Instant artist. At this point, the images still have a cartoon look to them, but give them time. Computers learn.

My social media has degraded to simply posting a picture to each every morning and answering messages. I rarely look down the feed anymore. I would rather be editing, shooting, or playing with my electronics than see a twerk. I am a bit excited to see Twitter and Meta tripping up. Heck, the world might be a better world if Elon bought Meta at this point. More picnics and more time to get to know your neighbors and raise your kids and go for walks. Facebook started in 2004 so it is only 18 years old. I’ll admit it was handy to network and find other photographers and models. It has almost been worth the lack of privacy and having my essence sold to the highest bidders.

There is no real news on the geek front. I’m selling off some of my radios because I don’t really even have room for all of it. A smaller number of just my favorite radios is a good cozy place to be. There are times I wish it was 1970 again and I had one radio to chat with people on morse code all night. Fun times.

Stay excellent, happy, and healthy!

Dave
