Greetings,

So, a model, scheduled to work with me a couple days ago, canceled because she had some school work due and, of course, that and family is certainly a priority in life. Today she messaged me and she’s sick with ‘you know what’. I’m so sad she’s sick and I wish her well of course. But there’s another bullet I dodged. If I hadn’t gotten my shots I don’t expect I’d be shooting at all yet. I hope I’m not jumping the gun.

Speaking of sick, I haven’t really been sick since a year ago January. Probably the longest healthy time in my life has been during a pandemic. I might just wear masks for the rest of my life. Especially flu season.

Some cool art this week. It was a fun week with some fresh shoots to work with. Elley and Violet gave me plenty of great poses and expressions to really make this old guy happy.

Today I’m shooting with another Ellie and we’ll see what we can come up with. It’s not often I work with someone new, but I think she’ll do great. She’s level headed and no nonsense from what I can tell. We’ll see, because I’m neither. (grin)

And on Friday we are headed to Tucson to visit and get creative with Tayler. It’s been WAY too long. I have some interesting ideas for us, and some involve chickens, so that should have you scratching your head.

And there are a few other shoots I’m looking forward to, and only one with someone new. She’s actually coming from Texas to be the model for the May 15th lighting class in Mesa. And tonight that class sold out. So there you go. We’ll be doing a little work together before the class to get warmed up and I can teach her my ways of teaching a bit. It’ll all be fun. A lot of people are coming in from out of state. The pressure is on!

And in the world of geekdom, I actually ordered a split AC unit for my office and studio. With the help of my grandson we are installing it ourselves. It should finally solve the 85 degree summer days in the studio , and even now it’s 89 here in my office. Just way too many radios and computers warming the place up. All remote control of course. So I’m hoping to be able to run down to Chandler from Bonita Creek for shoots from time to time and have it nice and cool here only when I need it to be.

That’s enough rambling for this issue.

Enjoy and stay safe.

Dave
