Greetings,

A week away from September. Remember those good old songs from the 60’s where school started and the weather was cooler in September. Some kids are a month into school by now and it’s still cookie baking hot on the dash. Considering the kids had those 3 months off in the summer to help with the harvest, at least that’s a good change. After all, whole corporations do the harvesting now.

One of the images I took a few days ago of Loe Roe with just her head from above (apparently) and hair standing straight up (right) is in the group this week. I really love that image. I added the original so you can see how it was shot and see the finished image to get a feel for the concept to the resulting art. I feel that is one of the more fun things to do with art/photography. Imagine some image, some concept, and then figure out how to take the picture so it can be turned into art. I wish I could say I thought of this one, but it was a concept I saw someone else do. Theirs was far simpler and in B&W and in the end they don’t look even close to the same. I hope that some artists see my work and it sparks an idea that they try. It all started with some caveman, or woman, tracing their hand on the cave wall. All art from that day forward is just a variation of that. Sometimes you just have too squint to see it.

Since last week I’ve had two days that had three shoots in them, so I have some good fresh things to work with. I have another shoot with Colby and a model he’s bringing who lives in California later today. So, she’s new. And Thursday I have a young lady who is also new to me coming in the morning. We’ll shoot and then Linda and I are headed to Bonita for the rest of summer. I have several 1on1 classes in September in Chandler so there will be some serious bouncing back and forth, but it’ll be great fun.

Linda is doing fine with her new hip. She’s certainly not hobbling around like she would have been 10 years ago after a hip replacement. She’s walking upright and normal. They removed the bad hip and the limp. She sees the doctor today and I expect she’ll get the okay to start working on the bending over part. And a new bandage I expect. It is a bit of a bitch getting old. At least we don’t rust. And there seems to be plenty of spare parts these days. The most important part is still being a teenager in our minds. No fixing the brain. We just have to keep it fed with great thoughts and give it plenty of things to think about to keep it busy. We need a purpose in life and by ‘we’ I mean out noggins. We are what’s up there. Our bodies are just transportation and life support.

I’m about to put together another downloadable picture book. This time I may add some little stories about some of the pictures featured. What do you think? Would you find it interesting to know a little background about the shot or the model? Or is it better to leave it a mystery and just the beauty? Let me know what you’d like to see.

Y’all have a wonderful rest of the week. Until next week.

Enjoy!!! And stay safe.
