Greetings,

A week from today, Linda and I will be on the road with the beast for the first voyage. Flagstaff, then a week on the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and then off to Colorado Springs for a week. Then heading down to Albuquerque for five days and then back to Bonita. All of that time, visiting friends at each stop. Who’da thunk we had enough friends for a trip like that?

So, I’ve slept in the trailer 6 or 7 days now and enjoyed the cool breezes, and this morning we made our breakfast out there. It’s a great way to figure out what you forgot. Simple things like, oh, we need a place to put trash.

I am still upgrading the beastie with another 100-watt solar panel, and tomorrow I’m adding some railed shelving in the bathroom and bed area to hold more of the things we can’t live without. The 200ah of batteries were more significant than I expected, but they fit with about an inch to spare. New battery for the truck too. Now it’s down to the little things, like a step to get up to the steps. Linda is 5’ tall, and I think the first step is a couple of feet off the ground. Even I have issues getting in.

And this morning I took my eBike for a ride…well, it took me for one. I’m getting used to it. Making turns on the gravel roads up here is not fun at all. Fell today, but it was in a slow turn. A couple of bandaids, and I’m fine. One is on my editing hand, however. Oh my! It will be fun to explore at our various stops. Tomorrow the saddle bags come in as well as a second level of mount for the handle bar. They are so short on eBikes, especially foldable ones, that you often have to add more mount room, especially for a geek. I opted to not have mirrors because it didn’t work well with folding her up. So, I have a little camera on the back under the seat and a 7’ screen that lets me see everything behind me in glorious widescreen. 18 miles and counting.

What’s left of the week will include choosing what shoots to take with me to edit on the road. And make sure the new editing pad has everything working. So, setting it up stand alone, probably in the trailer, to test it all out will happen so I know I’ll have everything.

No promises though. You might see the first reruns from previous Muleletters. I do have 237 to choose from! ;)

To be a great conversationalist, ask questions and listen. Repeat.

Stay open-minded and curious, my friends!
