Greetings,

Linda and I have been hiding up here in the forest home while we watched the Covid spike ramp up fast and then drop as they said it would. Although the last few days up here at Bonita have been really nice, the winter winds have been crazy from time to time. It is actually supposed to snow today, and I totally love that so I’m glad we aren’t missing it. So, on the 19th we’ll be back in Chandler for several months. Until it gets hot, then we are leaving you suckers for the high ground again. (grin)

That said, starting the 20th, the studio will be open for shoots, rentals, and classes. So, book away people. I do think I have the only studio in the valley that has wings available for rent too. It will certainly be good to get back in the swing of things. Doing it with a KN95 mask, but still, doing it.

We did our taxes and it was shocking how much business dropped because of the limits on classes and shoots. But, expected at the same time. My online classes are still steady and well used based on the stats. Considering people can watch all 80+ videos on lighting, editing, and working with models, for a month for $25. What a deal. It costs more than that to go to the movies one time. And, you could eat all the popcorn you want while watching the videos!

This issue of the Museletter features Sarah. We had a good run of shoots before she up and moved to Berlin. I talked with her a few days ago and she’s happy, and healthy, and agrees we should have shot more before she left. The cool part is, I have enough images for two full issues, so there will, indeed, be a part two.

Tonight I tested our internet up here at Bonita and it peaked at 5 mbps. That is painfully slow. It could be that everyone in Payson is streaming Duck Dynasty. Imagine one of those busses in India just packed with people hanging on the sides and even covering the roof. That’s our internet up here in the evenings. Linda and I watch any streamed shows in the middle of the day, when Payson is napping or at Walmart.

I ordered a Starlink system and it should be here before Christmas. Really. I also ordered a new fancy dancy radio from a company called Elecraft and it might be here before the Starlink, but it will be a tight turtle race. Our average download internet speed will go from 5-10 mbps to about 150 mbps. That’s about half what we get on COX in Chandler, but more than adequate. The radio? Well, it’s just really cool and the plan is for that to be my only big radio. And the other tube type ones from the 70’s. Check it out. Pretty! ;)

Enjoy the art with Sarah.

Until next week. Stay warm, dry, happy, and healthy. Please!
