Greetings,

It has been a quiet but fun week for me. I’ve created a lot of new art this week. I think just about everything in the gallery is new.

And any time I get a chance to do some composites is a good time. That’s when I can get as creative as I want. Just about all of my work have some kind of background added. Often it’s just a dusting of color to take away the grey. Or a shaft of light to direct the eye around the image. Those are simple and easy and make a big difference in the look of the finished image.

When I’m putting someone in place and changing the floor, walls, and everything around them, it gets creative and fun, and often crazy. There is a lot of that this week.

The video may have some clips from an older one with Ariana at the house in Mesa. But it fit a few of the images I edited this week, so I put it together just for those. This is another example of going back to a previous shoot and editing some images I’d passed over before. And, once again, I think some of these are better than the first ones I edited from this shoot.

Some exciting things are coming up this spring in the way of location shoots and some training experiences. A couple of training classes, a 1on1, and a group class are planned but no dates yet. And, of course, Elley and I are planning a two-day, middle-of-the-week, shoot back at the dunes. Now that we know what to expect with light and such, it should be an epic opportunity. We plan to do some light painting, something I’ve never done before, and some seriously cool themes we have in mind. We are beginning to purchase the costumes already.

In other news, some kid in a little pickup decided to road-rage me into racing him down Dobson road. Of course, I play with small minds, not participate in their stupidity. I backed off and just followed him. He kept slowing down, and so did I. We ended up going 30 along a 45 zone for almost a mile. Ironically, that same stretch of road, very near my home, is where two people, neighbors from across the street from my house, were killed a few months ago as they pulled out onto Dobson and were T boned by a kid going 107 mph. What we would have been doing at the same intersection if I had raced with this idiot.

Big man challenging someone in a RAV 4 Hybrid, huh? The stupid drips off of some people. It is that thick.

So, drive safe out there. Don’t participate in the thoughtless stupidity. And please continue to teach your children the value of life and respect.

Stay curious, my friends!

Dave
