Greetings,

This has been an interesting week with three new shoots in the can.  Just as interesting, to me, is that there isn’t another shoot of any kind in the calendar.  At all.  Zero.  I do have a couple planned with Miss Elley.  One will be a few days on the dunes doing some concept art.  And another new beach opportunity just popped up.  So, something to look forward to.

Linda and I just finished watching all 88 episodes of the Star Trek Enterprise series.  What a wonderful time we had.  I’m certainly more of a Star Trek fan than Star Wars.  I think the whole diversity thing is why I have always loved Star Trek.  And Star Trek is a good goal for us here.  Not in some galaxy far, far away.  I’m not thrilled with the reference to world war 3 that we had to get through to finally reach for the stars and work together.

As you can see by some of the images, I had a great opportunity to work with Todd and Griffin on some amazing fantasy shots they wanted.  I do love compositing and these turned out very well.  I like them anyhow.  I’ve included the before and after.  Another be change on this one was that I used some cheap long, thin LED lights for this entire shoot.  Notice the one with the green smoke.  I had a green light shining on her so that, when I added the smoke later, it should show up on her and make it look like she was, indeed, next to the smoke.  Fun stuff!!

And it sounds like they like the composites enough to possibly use them as life sized banners for their Fan booth that they use at Fanfest and conventions. That would be so awesome to see. I could get all close up and see all of my mistakes. ;)

We updated to iPhone 14s and in that move my authentication app doesn’t work so I hope you are getting this Museletter on time.  I need that to work so I can log into my website.  Fingers crossed.  Same thing happened when I get into Mailchimp.  Whew!  It is nice to learn things, like backups, but much better to do it the easy way, not the hard way.  It keeps me on my toes I guess. Update: They obviously jumped on my problem and get me back into my website. SquareSpace is full of great people.

Enough of my yammering. Enjoy the art for this week. There will be more of Griffin composited I’m sure.

Stay curious, my friends!

Dave
