Good morning!

We’ve spent the last few days up at Bonita and it has been very pleasant. Sleeping with windows and doors open is a huge reason why we love it up here. The coyotes tend to wake us in the middle of the night sometimes, but I look at that as a reminder of where we are and how relaxing it is. It is very easy to get back to slumbering away.

We head back today and then I have a week of shoots and other chores to do before we come to Bonita for the rest of the summer. I’m excited about the shoots and they will give me plenty of material to work on over the summer. As if the previous hundreds of shoots don’t fill the gaps nicely when it comes to editing.

A few more reasons why this coming week is going to be exciting in the valley is that I have two large projects going on and I will enjoy both. One is the group shoot with Elley at a beautiful location in Mesa. And then a week later an all-day boudoir shoot with a client. Those are always fun because I charge one price and it comes with makeup and hair and a nice location and no rush. It is an all-day affair with the goal of pampering and showing the woman just how beautiful she is. Of course, that’s always the goal.

I’ve been suffering from some serious nerve pain in my back but adding support to my shoes and doing some yard work up here has pretty much brought it down 95% so I’m pretty happy. Last week we had our annual physicals and it appears my cancer is certainly gone. It’s been seven years and there is no sign of it. Other than that, my cholesterol is a little high. That’s okay. If I had a choice of how I die, death by enjoying eggs would be near the top of the list.

Geek alert. I finally have just about everything on my antenna project complete. Other than cleaning up the cable run from the tower to the house, it is done. And boy am I loving it. Having such a nice antenna our here in the forest is amazing. The noise from neighbors is far, far less than in Chandler. And the signals are nice and strong. And being able to point my antenna lets me hear pretty much everything. I’ve been talking with people all over the world. The other night I enjoyed three conversations with some new hams. I helped answer some questions and get them going with new ideas. One chap was operating with only 10 watts on a tiny 8’ antenna in Washington. I was his first contact ever and that was 1,088 miles with a hand held radio. Pretty darned cool!

Stay open-minded and curious, my friends!

Dave
