Greetings,

This week features a long time model that I’ve had a LOT of adventures with over the years. These are from the early years mostly and there will be other Museletter’s she’s featured in because we shot a LOT.

Alanna is fun, funny, and has a bit of a baby face. I haven’t had the opportunity to work with her for a few years, other than some maternity work because she’s been busy making Mini Meez and growing her family.

Like many of the young people I’ve met and worked with, I’ve been able to watch her grow and evolve. Her face is even changing to a more mature look. A look of a happy mother. A stronger look because raising children has always been a challenge and she has met it head on.

The B&W with her bottom against the wall was from our very first shoot in Tucson many years ago. We started about an hour late because I told her to meet me at the train station. She never showed. She was waiting at the bus station around the corner. Hey, transportation is transportation, right? Kids!

I’ve had a couple of shoots since last week, so I have a lot of editing in my future. I’m not even close to finding the best ones from the last month of shoots. Last Saturday I went to a nice meet and greet at Studio at Boulder Mountain and met some interesting people. I Shot Elley there yesterday. We are getting ready to teach a natural lighting class there on April 30th. So, now we have some promo pictures.

Interestingly, when we spent two days at the dunes and Salton Sea I took about 1600 pictures. Yesterday, in 4 hours, we took 1400 pictures. There are so many great places to shoot there and we got a LOT of different sets, and some behind the scenes videos.

And I shot with the beautiful Danielle Diamond. We’ve been talking about shooting for years but she lives in Michigan so it wasn’t easy to set that up. We had fun in the studio.

On the geek side, I almost have my satellite station set up. I’ve heard some birds fly over but I’m awaiting some last parts to arrive that will amplify the signals I hear and then I should be good to start talking to people all over the western US using orbiting repeaters. Since you can listen to the signals as you talk, one evening I put out a couple calls and I heard myself echoed back. That means I was actually making it to the satellite and it sent my signal back. THAT was exciting! Evidently, I’m easy to impress.

Until next week. Stay warm, dry, happy, and healthy. Please!

Dave
