Greetings,

Another day, another dollar. Well…another day, anyhow. I hope all is well with you all.

So, last week I had a very nice second shoot with Aneve, and we got some fun and very artistic shots. The video covers some of it. Unlike other videos, there are some beautiful shots that don’t have film included. I forgot to press the button. So, not everything you see will match up with the lighting.

We are in the valley until around the middle of June. This happens every year. We plan to head out before it gets hot and many things get in the way. Mixed in is another week's stay at Bonita and a week in Huntington Beach. And some shoots and a wedding. Not only am I going to a wedding, but I’m also giving the invocation! So, the other day I had to buy dress shoes, a white shirt, and socks that weren’t white. ;). We shall see how well I clean up and make myself presentable. More of a chore than you might think. But I’m honored to have been asked by Elley and Dan to stand up there and do the ceremony. We’ll see if they regret it after the fact. I’m excited about doing it. It turns out in Arizona, you can actually perform a wedding without even filling out a form online. Like many things in Arizona, even giving the invocation can begin with “Hold my beer and watch this!”

The June 17th natural light class is almost full. It looks like we’ll probably have a full class and lots of fun creating. Elley has some great ideas up her sleeve…although she won’t have sleeves in most outfits. (grin)

I love those classes. Especially when I have a very talented model for them. I have had Elley and Ash, a traveling model, for this class before, so this will be the third one. Half of the class signed up in the first few hours and consisted of those who came last year. Guess they enjoyed it. I love having trained models because I can concentrate on explaining the lighting and angles, and options and not have to instruct the model.

For those of you who have enjoyed Ted Lasso on Apple TV, you will know what I’m talking about. For those of you who haven’t watched it, oh my it is good. I saw that the original idea was to have a lot of confrontation between the coach and team, but they looked at the divided world and changed the whole idea of the show. It is educational, upbeat, and a wonderful lesson on how we should be treating each other. It is no wonder it is winning awards left, right, and center. I hope other shows pick up on this winning approach to entertainment. Frankly, I don’t know where some people get the energy to hate so much. It looks exhausting.

Stay open-minded and curious, my friends!

Dave
