Greetings,

Up until Saturday I had several shoots, almost one a day for over a week. As well as teaching a couple classes. Sunday we came up to Bonita pretty much for the summer now. It is still a little chilly and breezy but the windows have been open since we got here. And that’s why we love it up here.

No real shoots booked other than a couple here and there over the next few months. But lots of time to edit past work, recent and otherwise.

This week’s gallery is a combo of recent edits and a combo of ladies. Some have always been regulars in front of my camera and a few that I hope will become regulars. Each one bringing their own beauty to the art.

I’m in decompression mode. Although I have PLENTY to edit and other projects, I’m sitting back a little to regroup. We all need that from time to time. Especially us old retired guys who have more going on than during our working life.

I would say “May the 4th be with you” thing, but frankly, I like Star Trek better. And tomorrow a very long awaited new spin off premiers so I’m excited. It is called Strange New Worlds and it is back to basic Trek with a modern twist. I think I like ST because it gives us hope for humanity. All one has to do is follow the news to know we are not improving as a species and could very well be doomed to be pointing fingers until there are no more fingers to point.

Did you know the population of the planet has doubled since 1969? The same year we landed on the moon yet still had segregated bathrooms by color.

So, I closed the door on Patreon and said good bye to that option. Patreon was getting around 30% of the income and that was not encouraging. I think the main reason I changed my mind on it was that I was posting my newest edits to those who were paying to support me. That made it harder to show off my new work to you guys. Bottom line, unless you have a thousand subscribers on Patreon it isn’t worth the time. I had 40. Thank you to those 40. It was fun.

On the up side, each week I provided a little snip video of behind the scenes on Patreon. Those are still out there, probably a dozen of them. Sooo, I will add one of those each week for a while so more of you can enjoy the world behind the camera. Get a laugh or a peek at least.

With water and power shortages on the horizon, we are upgrading Bonita Creek like a rabid prepper. The creek has run for the 20 years we know of, but it is a leak from an aquifer under the rim. But it requires rain to replenish, so we shall see. And right now that is where we get our water from. As for power, they are installing a nice solar system as I type this. Should be done today and then we wait a couple weeks for APS to bless it. 5kwh or solar panels and a 10kwh battery to keep us going at night. Any extra power will go back down the line to add power to our neighbors. As a reference, without AC, which we rarely need here, we use about 2kwh average per hour. Hardly any at night of course. So we should be power independent. Having solar here has been the plan for 20 years.

Sorry, this issue is a bit of a downer. Writing when you aren’t in the best of moods will do that. I will get better. I hope the rest of the world does too.

BTS videos start next week!!

Until next week. Stay crispy, happy, and healthy. Please!

Dave
