Greetings,

Welcome to issue 201.

I’ve been shooting since November of 2009 and it has certainly given me a retirement I never imagined. And probably more friends than I’ve had in my life before this adventure. Some have come and gone from my life. They only signed up for a few acts of this play, and that’s how life is. Some I’ve watched grow into adulthood, going from a giggly girl to being a proud mother. I had no idea this part of my life would be filled with so many amazing people. Including you, as a reader of the weekly installments of my life. I am gifted far beyond what I may deserve.

I had a few quick shoots since the last issue. I’m enjoying the editing as I listen to my music. I injured my knee a few weeks ago and it’s just now starting to feel better. It won’t be falling off or replaced (yet) as I was fearing. I hope I have a few thousand miles left in these legs. I do love hiking.

A couple of weeks ago I researched and ordered a couple of very interesting lights. Over a week went by with no word from the company, so I went to contact them and that’s when I noticed there was no address, phone number, or even an email address on the receipt. Oh my. I did a little more research and the last postings on FB and IG were in 2019. Oh my, oh my. For $750 I was about ready to call the credit card company when I finally ran across an email address for them, so I sent a copy of my receipt and asked when I could expect shipment. To my pleasant surprise, I got an instant response that wasn’t a message about a bounced email. It was one of the owners and he was very apologetic. He said the order was flagged for some reason and then missed. He assured me they would be shipped that day and he even issued $50 back to my card as a thank you. Whew!! Within 15 minutes I had a tracking number and they are coming tomorrow. I’m relieved and excited. And they are very different from anything I’ve ever used before and you will certainly see some interesting art in the near future.

Once I play with them and get some art from them I’m going to contact the company again to thank them and see if they would like someone to moderate their social media for them. I think it would do them some good. I think it’s the typical wonderful engineers that are the most clueless about marketing. Often they have amazing products and then don’t know what to do to sell them. I do know marketing.

A bit like the owner of a rocket company thinking if he can go into space how hard can a social media company be to run. It’s not rocket science, right? Evidently, it is not. (grin) I usually try to avoid current topics in the news, but I couldn’t pass that one up, sorry.

Stay excellent, happy, healthy, and curious my friends!

Dave
