Greetings,

Linda and I survived the COVID booster and Flu shots. It messes us up for a day, but we always have extra naps available to us. No Bill Gates knows precisely where I am every second. I’ve never understood why anyone thinks that’s important unless you are a bank robber.

As some of you remember, a year or so ago, 500px kicked me off of their system. Over the 8 years, I was on it, posting every day, I failed to make three images marked as nude. Every single time you posted a picture you had to check a box that said if it was nude. Now, a good GUI for that is to make it sticky. I check it once, and it stays checked until I uncheck it. The problem would have been solved. But no, even though I was paying them to post, it was no questions asked, and you are outa here. A couple of days ago I created a new account with a different email. Shady, I know. Over a few days, I posted 11 images, and all but 3 blew up and made it to what they term as popular for 24 hours. The other three were very close. Over 26k views in just a few days. And they abruptly closed my account. So, they are not interested in making money, just being a bully, I guess. It makes me wonder if the sales department knows what the system support people in the basement are costing them.

Being one to always look for a bright side… When I first got on 500px it took me a few years for any of my work to make it to popular. This time 80% of it did within hours of posting. I feel pretty damned good about that. As for 500px, it is still a wonderful site for inspiration on every type of photography. If I shot puppies or kitties, I would probably not have gotten the boot. It is unfortunate that there isn’t another site as good as that one. I guess that lets them be snobs.

We have the trailer down here in Chandler to get it ready for the coming trip to California. My son finished the new table, and I’m installing it this morning. That will make the trip much more pleasant.

As soon as we get back, the very next day, I have two shoots. And then several in the plans through November. Elley, Dan, and I will return to the dunes in November. This time sleeping in a nice trailer. One with a built in vacuum system. The perfect place to try that out. And a flush toilet of course.

For those of you out there that are photography artists, remember that I teach classes. One on one, Zoom, or on my training site. Just go up and explore training options in the menu here.

Always look for the bright side.
