Greetings,

As I’m typing this we are being cocooned here at Bonita. After years or casually looking we finally found someone good to paint this monster house. I swear its two stories inside and 14 stories on the outside. But it should be all sparkly new looking by next week. Instead of just two shades of a brown and brownish grey we are going just a little darker and three colors. The trim around the windows and wooden doors will be a dark green. That will stand out big time, especially on the double 10’ garage door. Pictures next week.

Well, I finished up all three classes last week. The students seemed to have a good time and learned a lot. And they got some wonderful pictures of several local models. Thank you Joy, Paul, and Stan. You were all great fun to instruct and visit with. And I know you’ll all rock what you’ve learned.

As usual, I included a before and after of an image, this time with Elley on the wall being shot with blinds. I thought you all would find it interesting how that’s done. What you don’t see is a flash high on a stand with no modifier on it off to the left in the picture, about 15 feet from her. Just the bare flash bulb. That’s done that way to make the lined shadows on her dark and sharp.

I’ve done some edits this week I’m especially excited about. One in particular is Tayler. And yes, her cat was super excited to be in the picture too. The whole feel is wonderful to me. I should have probably taken down the picture in the background, but hey. Should’a, could’a, would’a.

And the image of Elley on the way is a new one edited from the blinds shot, so basically you get to see how a couple images were lit up and shot. Speaking of Elley, she’s back from Greenland and happy to have a T shirt and flip flops on. I hope we get to shoot in October, possibly from Bonita.

We are up here for all of October and in a few weeks the beautiful Kileen and her MUAH daughter are coming to visit. So expect some windy beautiful new images of her in the mix. I’m looking forward to her visit. She is a hoot.

It seems photographers are itching to get back to it and hit the ground with some new tools to draw from. So many training request and the number of people signing up for the online training courses is a regular occurance. If you are interested, check it out.

For the geeks out there, I’ve been playing with something called Node Red. I’m just getting into it and finding my way around, but it is very powerful and seems very easy to code in. Building blocks to devices and interfaces with SQL server, sensor monitoring, web display of status, and controlling the GIO of just about any computer like the Raspberry Pi and Arduino.

Until next week, enjoy!!! And stay safe.

Dave
