Greetings,

Hey fellow earthlings. And others. I don’t want to leave planet hoppers and time travelers out. I hope you’ve had a great week. I probably have because I’m writing this before a one-week vacation, and today I’m on my way home. So, I did a little pre-planning to ensure I don’t miss a deadline.

I expect I had a ball visiting family and friends and walking on the beach. I should have also had a single and couples shoot with Nikole Mitchell. I’m sure that turned out well. All of our shoots have in the past. Her energy and positivity always shine through.

So, why would an old retired guy need a vacation? Well, we all need to break our routine once in a while. I get stuck in the same cycles as anyone else would. Unfortunately, one of the things that aren’t in my regular cycle are walks on the beach, or breakfasts at the Beach Comber restaurant. And we haven’t traveled anywhere since 2018, like many, so it’s time.

Near the end of this month, I get to spend some time on location with Elley Cat and her fiance. We’ll be doing some art, of course, and some engagement photos. A nice mix. The location will be pretty cool, and I expect we’ll try more than one.

I’m starting to gather images to create some new picture books. I’ve only done one in 2018, and it was a mix of images from various models. Taking a queue from the Museletters, I’m going to do three new books to start. Each will feature a single model and will be named after them. I will certainly have one for Elley Cat. God knows I have plenty of art with her. Another will be with Sarah Grimwood. Bother are over the top beautiful. I haven’t decided on a third or fourth model yet. I’m open to suggestions. Or, I could create one around a type of image. Like body scape or legs.

I think it’s pretty obvious that today’s issue features Elley Cat. Some new images and some old favorites grace the gallery. The video is one of three we made during the shoot, two of which are with this amazing thrift store dress. The other two will follow in the next two issues.

We have moved from Bonita to Chandler, so the studio is open and ready for flashes, music, and laughter. And, of course, classes. I don’t have any group classes scheduled, but it is always open for 1on1 sessions. And, of course, studio rentals.

Geek alert!

My new Elecraft K4, the radio I’ve been waiting for since February, is on, and I’m listening to it as I type this. What a beautiful radio. The thought and pride that went into it are obvious. OCD can be your friend. Lately, I’ve tried a lot of the major popular radios, and I’ve found some major flaws in them. That happens when something is being built to fit a price point. Once they hit that point, they see what can be trimmed to add more profit. Two active hams in California design this radio, and they have a BUNCH of years and models behind them. I’ve owned pretty much all of them and loved watching them grow. The boards are made in China, of course, but it is put together and fully tested here. There is a feature where you can record your voice and play it back on the air. I found someone had already tested that function at the factory. Pretty cool!!

So, as geeks go, if I were one of the seven dwarfs, I’d be Happy..

Stay cool, happy, and healthy!

Dave
