Greetings,

Well, we are in December already. You know what that means? A few more weeks under 100 degrees. And egg nog. I swear, I will learn how to make that myself so I’m not chained to the holidays for that wonderful elixar.

I’ve had a busy week with the editing pen and playing with radios. Being retired is, indeed, everything it is supposed to be. The only bummer is that knowing the next stage of life is not pleasant. So, I try not to think about it and squeeze as much out of every day.

Shooting ladies for the last 14 years in various stages of undress (them, not me), I can’t say I know why they seem to enjoy seeing themselves in pictures. Especially the ones that do nude work. Of course, women don’t come with instruction manuals or have a wiki page, not that I read instruction manuals.

For some, I think it is the freedom just to be natural. Some have been repressed and want to feel free. I’m sure most of them see the art their body created for the camera.

I know one who did it because her ex was releasing nude pictures they had done in private, and she just wanted to take the wind out of his sails. Another was super nervous, worried about what others would think since she had never done nudes before. So, we just tried it, and within 10 minutes, she was running around the studio like a kid, laughing and having a grand time. And her friends loved the images.

Some do it to look back from their rocking chair and love who they were. To be able to relive those free artistic moments.

I think every woman has a different reason for doing nude art. Some couldn’t even explain why they wanted to do it.

With all of that said, most men are much simpler on why they enjoy nudes. Boobs.

One thing I started years ago was the option for any model who didn’t do nudes or implied to try whatever level they would like, with the understanding that no images would ever be released. The photos are just for her. They were taken in an artistic environment with a camera and lighting that is a bit better than a selfie in the bathroom with a phone. I love helping people feel good about themselves.

This morning, I finally took my whole editing station apart, and moved things around, and untangled the web of cables. I made sure the battery backup was working for the computer and external RAID drives. Everything is organized and dust free. Poor dust bunnies. I’m sure I left a couple of clumps of dust under there because in a few weeks it’ll all be covered in dust again. The bunnies always win.

Happy holidays!
