Greetings,

Well, this is the last Museletter for 2021. A couple more will mark 3 years of weekly issues. Not bad. At least I know what day it is once a week. Being retired, it’s good to have at least one day of the week that you have to do something.

I’m really going to change things up in my personal life for 2022. I’m saying this publicly so I kinda’ have to do it now. It’s my diet. It’s bad, I know it’s bad, and it is time to change that. Goodbye to things with sugar in them and bread. Both have been staples in my diet. Linda and I listened to a podcast, Hidden Brain, this morning and it happened to be about habits and how to change something you know you need to change. It’s not really about will power. Like that cake in the fridge. You need to know that’s not for you. It needs to not be tempting. And adding some friction to doing something makes it less likely that I would do that.

One of the examples they used was the woman who loved to run. But she had a family and something always came up to take up her time. So, she decided to run at 6am before everyone got up. The ‘friction’ was that she had to get dressed to run. So, to remove that issue she actually started sleeping in her running outfit so she could pop out of bed and get out and run. It helped. Good thing she wasn’t into scuba diving in the morning.

I think the best way to get started with the new diet is to just not have the foods I currently eat here. Period. That kinda’ greases the skids since I will certainly eat of course, I just don’t want to eat the sugary junk I’ve been eating. I’m studying the Keto lifestyle and my plan is to work out more, at least long walks, and use the TRX for some upper body. Thanks Ryan for being a prime example of how well it worked for you, and encouraging me.

So much for my new year’s resolution. I am actually fairly good at changing course and sticking with it. Let’s see if I’m 30-40 pounds lighter for 2023.

On the photography front, as I’ve mentioned, I’m not shooting, or training through January. And how long after that will depend on how the pandemic goes. I know it won’t be gone, but what goes up fast, usually goes down fast, at least in pandemics. I have a feeling we have a couple more years to go. But you know what? We are going into the third year with a lot of life changing experience under our belt. We got this!!

I’m starting to look at some epic shoots I was a part of as far back as 7 years ago now. Some images in this week’s issue are new edits from those shoots. A couple shoots, in particular, had several models. In Tucson for example, I had Lance, Tayler, and Alanna for a day in an amazing house. (Thanks Barney!!). And we shot some wonderful and varied work. Then there was the 4 days and four models I took to California. Actually, not all of them were there the whole time, but I had three at a time most of the time. There was Lisa, Aurora, Tayler, and Alanna. That was a stressful treat. With over 3900 images, there are 62 edited. Yes, there are a ton more that rock, in both shoots. And there are several weeks we spent in Parker, Colorado with an amazing crew of people we call friends that we would spend 5 days shooting, eating, and showing each other what we’d learned since last year. I’m sure there are dozens of images that would be wonderful to edit. So, now you know why I have 19TB of images in my storage.

And my Patreon site is doing well, even though the link last week was all wrong for it. It’s kinda’ cool, with three tiers to choose from.

For $5 a month you get a new edit each day. Something no one has seen yet. Some may never make it to the public.

For $12 a month I’ll be posting a lot of behind the scenes stories, videos of BTS, and Zoom Q&A once a month.

And for $25 a month you get all of that AND every THREE MONTHS you’ll get a print of your choice mailed to you.

So check it out and support my efforts, and have some daily art.

Enough about me. Enjoy this months art and let me know what you think.

Until next week, enjoy!!! And stay safe.

And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Dave
