Greetings,

If you are one of the few rabid readers of my Museletter and check it out every Wednesday morning, know that as you read this, Linda and I are headed down I10 to Huntington Beach for a week. We are house, dog, and grandkid watching that week. He’s a good kid, and 13, so potty trained, so hey, as long as we make sure he’s fed, golden!

It’s been a while since we’ve been to Huntington with time to relax and play. There will be long walks on the beach, nice meals, and some ice cream.

Because my schedule is so busy, this and the next video are republished from previous issues. This week - Elley in the creek!

Later in the week, we will be joined by Mrs. Elley Ringo-Chain and her brand-spanking-new husband. (I’m just guessing on the spanking part. I know not what they are into.) The plan is to do some shooting for two days. First, with the incredibly talented Karen Bates from Orange County for a super glam sets with over-the-top makeup and a few of her famous wig creations. That will be very different and refreshing.

The next day we’ll hit downtown Huntington Beach and, of course, the beach, and do some Monroe-style looks. I expect some nice B&W to go with that thought. In any case, we’ll all have a blast both days.

The wedding went well. I had a blast, and it looked like Elley did too. It was wonderful to see everyone so happy. She looked outstanding in her dress. (yeah, I said that.). And Dan looked dashing, of course. A great match those two.

You can’t see it, and for some reason, we didn’t take a picture of my ‘uniform’ that I surprised Elley with. It is a T shirt with the first few words from the Princess Bride wedding and a tall hat on the front. All in fancy scroll writing, of course. The black thing was my attempt at making it official looking in a silly way. She did laugh, so it worked. And I’m not dead. Why we are such good friends I expect.

I had forgotten that I cry at weddings. I’m a softie. So, it was a challenge to get through my part with tears and laughter and zero rehearsing. I think it all made it fun that we were all doing it for the first time. I forgot to have them do their rings, and after the kiss, Elley said, “RINGS!”. So, I had them exchange rings and then made them kiss again. If I’d had my wits about me, I would have looked at Dan and said something like “Precious wants her ring” and then told Elley we didn’t know she was changing the movie theme in the middle like that. It was a highlight of my life to do this for friends. It will forever be a fond memory.

Stay open-minded and curious, my friends!

Dave
